The retro games where harder then most games are nowadays, therefore more of a
challenge and more fun. Most games now just get frustratingly hard, throwing you
in a place surrounded my enemies where you have almost no chance. While the
retro games (such as megaman) focused more on compicated jumps and enemy
maneuvers for you to dodge. And you can't forget the SNES RPG's, I play those
more than any game still.
I'm a big fan of the battle system in the Tales of series (Tales of Phantasia,
Tales of Destiny 2 etc...). The battle system in ToD2 was the best though, no
confusing psuedo-3d, and in manual mode you had complete control of your
character, whichever you chose to play as.
